B. RocheI have a two acre lot in the central Missouri Ozarks and this blower has made life a lot easier! The large volume of air put out from this blower will move large amounts of leaves any place you want them to go. I have never had a problem starting this blower and it is well designed and very easy to control. This is a SERIOUS blower and it is perfect for clearing large amounts of leaves from large areas. Not designed for small yards..!
Yes
MHI have been using this leaf blower now for two years. I use it now upwards 3 to 6 times a week. All Seasons. I have to say, I absolutely love this leaf blower! The reliability of this machine is incredible, starts on the second or third pull, every time! The volume of air it moves is staggering. It'll take any job you throw at it. Some people note it's hard to get on. I find it pretty easy actually. (Start it first) Loosen the straps, pull one arm through, then the 2nd arm, lean forward and pull on the torque straps. I'm so used to it I don't even think about it anymore. The trick is leaning forward, getting it high up on your back and then torquing it down. I don't use the sternum strap, don't need it.
Yes
R. LondonThis thing rocks!!! What used to take me 10 hours to do was completed in less than 2 hours. No more arm and back pain. Best investment I ever made. Outstanding power, moves leaves, twigs, branches, acorns with ease. Easy assembly- 5 mins and started on first pull.

Mr MouseUPDATE: I still LOVE this Backpack Blower. However, I just wanted to make everyone aware of a potential issue I've discovered with this Unit when checking the Air Filter. Always check how the Fuel Lines are routed coming out of the Gas Tank and around the Side Panel Air Filter Cover BEFORE removing the side Panel to service the Air Filter! When reinstalling the Panel ensuring the Gas Lines run the exact same way. I pulled and replaced this Panel, and incidentally pinched off one of the Fuel Lines causing the Engine to lose power and choke out when pulling the throttle.Yes
mp mcgrathSorry it took me so long to spend the extra money for a 4-cycle, straight gas blower. CAUTION: extremely powerful (200 mph) will knock over newly planted saplings and small children. No more fuel mixing...just a short engine warm-up time. Obviously heavier than standard 2-cycle blowers - in reality a commercial tool for DIY homeowners. Have successfully used it to clear a 120' driveway when dusted with light powdery snow - just use a flathead to turn the clearly marked dial to the cold weather settings - zero complaints after one season on a two acre property - don't know how I did before.

LeeThis machine is a beast! Wear safety glasses, shield your pets and small children and tie down anything you don't want to blow into the next county! Having said that, the engine blew up during the third use!! Was assembled and used properly so apparently had some manufacturing defect. Makita would have fixed it under the warrantee but nearest service center is over an hour from my home which is in a very rural area. Amazon does not accept returns of combustible engine products but true to form AMAZON REPLACED IT IMMEDIATELY WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED!! Have yet to use the new one but will update this review if for any reason it does not live up to expectations.

Tool OgreI bought this as a reprieve from gas, not a replacement. I say that as I have around 20 acres, mix of wooded and clear, but the house that the "lot" is on about 1.5 acres that is fairly wooded. We maintain the 20 acres monthly on average, but the area around the home daily. We have always used gas, and have a lot of Stihl products that are phenomenal.
Yes
ABI got this to maintain a large suburban lot. I have a great 4-stroke hand held gas blower that worked well for clearing clippings and leaves off concrete. Using the hand held in the fall for leaves however was just too much as I would run through 3 tanks of gas and wear my shoulder out. After using the blower a couple of times I can tell that it is more powerful than the 4-stroke gas blower when using the 7.5amph battery. It's a little less powerful when I use the 4amph battery from my Dewalt pole trimmer which I didn't suspect. I figured the 4amph would just run for 50% less time.
Yes
Mark C.Great electric leaf blower. I use it to blow leaves and small debris on driveways and sidewalks at a property I manage. Each buttery lasts close to 20 mins at trigger wide open. Power slightly drops after about 10 mins, but nothing major. I purchased a second battery, so I get close to 40 mins of continuous use at full power. Weight is good. And noise is low. And no fumes of course. I am very happy with my purchase.

VenusWhat an amazing blower! I purchased the Poulan Pro 48cc. backpack blower a few weeks ago to clear the leaves and mixed debris in my horse pastures in order for the grass to grow. Not only does this blower do an amazing job with leaves, it also clears old piles of manure, hickory nuts and compacted and half rotting clumps of stuff in low lying areas like a dream. This is the 2nd backpack blower that I have owned yet the first Poulan Pro product... I will now never purchase another brand.

JulianThis is a great blower for your money I purchased it a month ago I live in Northeast Ohio I saw plenty of review saying used it once then it died couldn't use it again if you know anything about 2-cycle engines you know you need a 50 to 1 mix ratio I prefer using the premix gas you buy at your local hardware store because it does not have any ethanol in it and for you that don't know ethanol attracts water so you cannot let it sit in your gas tank for more than 2 days or you will destroy the engine if you buy the premix gas you will have no worries you can let it sit in there for up to two years started up and it will be just fine this Backpack Blower I opened it up started it up it was 28 degrees outside when I first got it it started right up my recommendation is do not use your own mix gas by premix gas because of the ethanol they kills 2 cycle engines

CWI have had both electric and gas powered hand leaf blowers, but none compare to this one. It does the job many times better than the hand ones. Takes a little getting used to (starting it then putting it on your back), and it might feel a bit heavy after an hour or so of use, but still is the answer to all my needs. Leaves, sand on driveway, etc. Good product. Caution: I tried to run it with my pre-mixed fuel/oil solution I had at home. Would not get up to full speed. After mixing a new container with the (included) synthetic two-stroke oil, ran like a champ.

YossarianI am in the middle of my fourth season of clearing leaves with this leaf blower. I am very pleased both with its quality and reliability and with the excellent job it does in clearing leaves from my lawn. It always starts on the first or second pull (after proper prime and use of choke until it first sparks to life.) I had some learning curve to discover how to most effectively clear a lawn of leaves with a blower as this was my first experience with using oneYes
noused it twice since I received it as a gift once for 1 inch of snow and once to blow out my 4 bay garage I have read the reviews on this and so far have had no trouble at all my generator sits along side my house and the gap between the storage box the genny is in leaves gather and used this to blow out the leaves. will do another review after spring clean up

Amazon Customer"Before I purchased my TB4BP Blower, I read every single product review. Why there are so many complaints about the tubes being difficult to assemble, I do not know. Perhaps, Troy-Bilt fixed the problem before I bought mine. The tubes easily snap together if the tubes are warm, and aligned per the instructions. I did notice what some referred to as the plastic tubes being slippery. Yes

wdguyI thought I'd give battery tools another opportunity and I'm glad I did. Operates at least as well as its gas cousins. About 1/3 of the weight ( - batt), no more storing solvents, mixing oils, no maintenance, no storing for winter, no filters or plugs. This is replacing my Craftsman 35cc 4 stroke backpack which I just now sold due to the performance of this blower. Battery is cluncky, about the size of 3/4 of a red brick and about the same weight. Easy assembly out of the box. Cruise control and a turbo button for extra umphYes
Diane WilsonI moved up from a corded electric blower (Stihl BGE 60) and this is a huge improvement. It blows pine needles and even pine cones, at least into stacks that can be picked up with a rake. It also took on our natural area with ease, where it was able to pick up and move matted patches of decayed leaves and pine needles, again to move into piles for pickup with a rake.Yes
808 heathLove this backpack blower... I previously owned a handheld unit, which after a short time the weight and vibration would make my hand sore. This unit sits comfortably on my back and is so light that I can hardly tell it's there. The professional style blower wand and variable speed control makes this very easy to use. Assembly of the hose section did require more than two hands to connect the sections...

Best Backpack Blowers Buying Guide

Now that you’ve seen the best backpack blowers that we’ve tested, we’ll now help you choose the one that you need. When you choose a backpack blower, you have to consider its power, design, and amount of noise.

The first thing that you need to consider when you choose a backpack blower is power. Here, you’ll look at the leafblower’s speed. The higher the speed, the more likely your blower will work on hard surfaces but also on hard-to-clean debris and wet grass.

Second, you’ll need to consider its design. A well-designed backpack blower is not only sturdy; it also is comfortable to use for long working periods. Design affects the way you carry the blower and control yourself as you walk with it.

Finally, you’ll also need to note how much noise your leaf blower makes. The higher the noise it makes in decibels, the more likely it might disturb neighbors. If you’re in a residential area, a quieter blower might suit you.

Now, which one’s the best backpack blower for you? Once you’ve gone through this review and guide, you can now choose the blower that you need.
